Countering a Counter Attack

Carrizo threw a flash bang, the resulting crash of noise caused some ringing in his ears, even though he had his helmet. Carrizo ran out around the corner, and saw a bloody carcass draped across the .50 Cal. He hurled a grenade at the already stunned Valor men. The fragmentation device hitting one man in the head, then exploded. The man’s head was vaporized, several mean around him were filled with debri, and more still lost body parts. With only seven men left the resistance was quick and futile. Carrizo snapped off a few shots from his Gotha, sending one man to his grave. He watched Matthias who began spraying his huge KP21 MG into the group, sending three more men down. Sasha leapt onto two men, a burst of fire hitting one soldier and her blade landing inside the other ones head. The huge noise of a .50 rifle rang out as the last man’s head vaporized from the bullet. Carrizo walked forward towards the group of bodies. “FUCK, DEAD MAN TRIGGERS!” Every Valor man had been rigged with explosives, and one of them had managed to set them off, the massive explosion of seven blocks of C4 sent Sasha, Matthias and Carrizo flying.
Carrizo awoke to see a face he thought he would never see in his life, Hoi. “Did you miss me? Carrizo tried to swing at the man, but to no avail. Two Valor soldiers were standing on his arms. “Carrizo, you spared me once, I still remember it, but then you killed me. So I would say, we don’t owe each other a damn thing.” Carrizo shook his head, “You were dead.” Hoi nodded, “Almost dead, but thanks to a little Valor ingenuity, I managed to come back to life.” Hoi held up a med kit, “Raven should really look into these.” Hoi stepped off of Carrizo’s chest, looking over at Sasha, who was also being held down. “And you, you sliced my throat and stabbed my heart, all for a pair of boots?” Sasha spat at Hoi, “They were fucking new!” Hoi shot the girl in the gut, a piercing scream rang out.  Carrizo gritted his teeth, “You don’t know what your doing Hoi. You don’t understand the big picture!” Hoi pointed a finger at Carrizo, “NO, you don’t understand! You are a bastard and I’m gonna fucking kill you!” Hoi raised his pistol, aiming the thing at Carrizo’s head. Two shots rang out.

Lennon had watched in horror as his comrades had been sent flying by the explosions. He had stood, and was about to run to their aide when he saw a mass of Valor soldiers moving towards the position. The men quickly apprehended his comrades and held them. Lennon had situated himself in an ideal spot, from which he could view the proceedings. He silently removed the HM90E from his back, setting the AM50 aside, but still useful. He set the bipod up slowly and carefully, from his hide he couldn’t hear the proceedings, but he knew it was heated. Before he could even set up, the crazed Valor soldier shot Sasha in the gut, Lennon sped the process up, finally in position he watched. The Valor man was standing over Carrizo, a pistol ready to fire. Lennon lined the pistol up, taking careful aim. The man raised the pistol, slowly lowering it, and Lennon tracked it closely. When it came to rest ready to fire, Lennon did. The bullet knocked the gun flying, Lennon pulled the trigger a second time a hair of a second after the first shot. The second bullet slammed into the man on top of Matthias. The limber Icelander jumped up, throwing himself onto the crazy Valor soldier, slugging him in the skull. Lennon fired again, this bullet releasing Carrizo from one of his captors. Carrizo dealt with the other man, a quick gauntleted hand to the knee brought him down, and another to the head kept him down. Lennon then tracked his scope over to Sasha, the girl was bleeding bad, but Lennon could help in one respect, he put a bullet straight into the head of the man holding her down. Then Lennon felt a sharp crack in the back of his head.
Matthias felt someone lifting him into the air, and throwing him flying. Hoi was suddenly free, if dazed. But he scrambled to his feet and began running, fearing Carrizo’s wrath. Matthias felt fists smashing into his head, he fell to the ground, and sharp flashes of light seemed to be coming from the back of his head. He tried to get up, but another blow dropped him to the ground again. Suddenly the blows stopped, Matthias rolled over to see Carrizo practically mauling the Valor soldier. The poor man was literally being torn limb from limb as Carrizo ripped the soldier’s leg off.  Matthias felt a tap on his shoulder, and then felt someone fall over onto him. He looked down at Sasha’s bloodied face, “Fuck, Carrizo, stop ripping him to shreds and get a medic!” Carrizo dropped the arm he had in hand and looked over at Sasha, before the insult could leave his mouth he nodded. “Right.” He looked about for his helmet, grabbing the massive thing he slipped it on. Even through the solid steel Matthias could hear the screaming, “MEDIC!” Carrizo slammed a fist into the sandbag wall, tearing a hole in it, and knocking one section down. “I NEED THEM HERE NOW!” Carrizo sighed, even that was loud, “Fine, soon as possible.” Carrizo shook his head and walked over , “If a medic actually comes I’ll fuck a horse. We need to move her. Find Lennon, get him over here, get our guns too, were leaving.”
Matthias followed Carrizo, Gotha rifle at the ready. Behind him, Lennon was treading just as softly, F57 pistol raised, both his HM90E and his AM50 were strapped to his back. The Norwegian sniper swung his pistol to the left, swearing to himself that he had heard something; thankfully it was only a squirrel. With a deep sigh of relief he turned back to face the front. Ahead of them Carrizo was carrying Sasha with one arm, and holding his trusty F57 in the other. As they came up on the bridge, Carrizo saw a sight to behold. Valor soldiers were running away in droves. Raven technology had prevailed, automated turrets, and the advanced gun systems on their Humvees had forced the Valor soldiers into submission. Carrizo watched as a Humvee drove over to them, a medic jumped out, rushing towards the group. “Who needs fixed up?” Carrizo put Sasha down, laying her gently on the dirt road. The medic nodded, “Hold this,” He handed Carrizo a med kit, identical in every way to the one Hoi had held in his hands earlier. Carrizo watched as the medic removed the bullet, then took back the medic and sprayed the wound with a blue smoke. The wound healed within a matter of seconds, shocked Carrizo stared. The medic grinned, “Don’t worry sir, I see that expression on a lot of faces these days.” Sasha sat up, “What happened?” Carrizo smiled, “We killed the bastards.” She nodded, “And Hoi?” Carrizo shook his head, Sasha nodded, “Bastard deserves to die.” Carrizo nodded, Matthias nudged him, “Hey Carrizo, looks like we’re gonna have to find a horse seeing as how there is a medic, right there.”
Sasha said, “A horse?”

Yet another change ;)

I'm moving these stories over to a website at Webs.com to make my life a little easier. (This blog was just to hard for me to use, for some odd reason...) Stay tuned for more details, and check here to see when the new site goes online!

Carrizo

Hoi awoke to a splash of water in his face; he whipped his head around, looking about the dark room. In front of him, a young woman was placing the bucket on the ground; its sides were streaked with rust. Hoi watched intently, knowing this was going to be the beginning of a brutal interrogation.  His memories of the previous day’s fighting were hazy at best; brief flashes of a huge man kneeling on his chest came and left. All he could truly remember was that they had been ambushed, and everyone was likely dead. The woman flipped the bucket over with her foot, and then sat down on it. “Hoi, nice to see your awake.” The voice had come from behind him, but Hoi didn’t need to look to know who was speaking, “Carrizo,” the name came out almost like a curse, Hoi gritted his teeth, “You betrayed us.” A sharp object smacked into his back, his teeth clamped even tighter together and he groaned in pain, “And you betrayed your own PMC!” The voice sounded angry; obviously he had hit a weak spot. Hoi shook his head, “Those men didn’t have to die, and their lives could have been spared.” Carrizo shook his head, “They were all traitors, and should have died already. Last night was just the execution.” Hoi looked up at the girl briefly; she was playing with a stiletto blade, twirling the silver piece of death around her fingers. She wore almost no armor, only a ammo vest covered her upper frame. Her hair hung loose around her head. Her uniform was a smoke pattern, gray, brown and black. Hoi’s eyes kept flicking from the floor to the blade, waiting for her to strike. “Hoi, you know as well as I do that this war has become so much more brutal than ever before, and this was just a way to get rid of the competition.” Hoi shook his head, “Why am I still alive then? Aren’t I the competition?” Carrizo chuckled, the sound was like gravel, “Hoi, you are still useful, I can use you. Valor won’t turn down the return of such a highly decorated hero; it would be a PR nightmare to kill you. I can use that to get information on Valor’s plans. However, it would be a huge moral blow if Raven soldiers killed you.” Hoi spat at the ground, “You better kill me now.”
Hoi never felt the blade that stabbed into his heart, he watched as the girl smiled, bringing the blade up and slashing his throat. Carrizo gave the woman a stern look, “Sasha, did I tell you to do that? No, I didn’t, why the hell did you?” The woman, Sasha, gave Carrizo a dirty look, “He spit on my brand new boots!”
“VALOR COUNTERATTACK!” Carrizo burst out of the darkened room, Sasha close behind. He watched as the once peaceful men began pouring out of their tents. “Sasha, go get Lennon and Matthias.” The girl ran off towards the squad’s tent. Carrizo grabbed his rifle, checking the action quickly to make sure a round was ready to go. When Sasha returned she had the two men with her, “Let’s move, were gonna roll down by the water towers, up by the church and try to hit the Valor men in the ass.” The three soldiers nodded and silently followed Carrizo as he began jogging down the long slope towards the towers. Their main objective was to their left, the Bravo Uplink, and Carrizo could see the Valor soldiers rushing into the area, trying to take the ground back. He quickly led his fire team towards the church. “Lennon, set up in the tower, do not fire until we’ve made contact.” The shadowy man nodded and moved into the church to set up his sniper rifle. Carrizo led the rest of his group towards a nearby cargo container. “Matthias, Sasha, go on the other side of these houses, clear out the tent area, then move to B, I’ll be clearing the road.” The last of his team nodded and moved off, Carrizo then stepped out of cover, Gotha at the ready.
He saw around 12 Valor soldiers, all behind cover, the men were setting up MG emplacements, to try and hold off the Raven soldiers. Carrizo pulled out a grenade, popping the pin and hurling the small explosive towards the enemies. He ran across the road, taking cover behind a small drainage pipe. He popped up, spraying his entire clip at where the Valor soldiers were. The grenade had done its job, wiping out four of the soldiers. And Carrizo’s gun did short work of the rest, the bullets quickly taking down four more soldiers. With their numbers cut down by two thirds, the Valor soldiers began falling back from their positions. But Carrizo wouldn’t allow it, he came back up with a fresh magazine and popped four bullets into each man’s neck. The deadly precision was helpful as it killed every man instantly.
Sasha pointed to the left, “Matthias clear that area.” She then moved off to the right. She saw a group of Valor men, hidden behind cover. They were firing on a group of Raven men who were pinned down in one houses backyard. They had taken cover behind a fence, but it was quickly being decimated by the thundering fire of Valor machine guns. Sasha brought her F90 up, pulling the trigger as she barreled ass towards the enemies. She saw the streak of a .50 Cal bullet streak by her head, the massive thing slammed into a small soldier, incinerating his entire head. Sasha screamed with the exertion of force as she slammed into a man, wrapping her arm around his neck and then flipping her entire body over, throwing the man into a nearby container. She turned and flicked out her stiletto. Her F90 discarded, she held a KP7 in one hand, and the deadly blade in the other. She threw herself into a roll, putting  a burst of Machine pistol fire into one of the soldiers. Bullets smacked into the ground just behind her as she leaped onto another man, her knife landing in his eye. A bullet to the head sealed the deal as she brought herself into a cat like crouch. Her comm crackled to life, “Sasha, I need help here.” The voice was Matthias’s, Sasha grunted, “Give me a minute.” She pulled the trigger of her KP7, the weapon angled at the last Valor man. The man grinned when a click was all that was heard. He raised his MG, only to have a .50 caliber bullet smack into his head, turning his brains into a red mist. Sasha looked over to the church tower and gave Lennon a thumbs up.
Matthias thought he had the easiest job, seeing as how he would only have to clear out the stragglers. But when he peeked over the sandbag wall his heart fell. Three squads of Valor men had grouped up behind a house, out of view from the church tower, and also out of view from the bridge. They had set up hardened mortar placements, as well as a sandbag wall with a .50 Cal MG on it. Matthias groaned, dropping back into cover. “Lennon, they’ve got hardened emplacements. Can you do anything?” Lennon swung his scope to look at his friend’s situation, “Negative on that, I’ll displace and try to find a solution.” Matthias then tried Sasha and Carrizo, both responded, “We’ll be there in a second.” Matthias waited for everyone to get in position. Carrizo came first, “Looks like we’ve got guys coming across the bridge, what do you have Matthias?” The Icelandic man pointed over the wall, “Mortars, and MG emplacement. No way they’re gonna make it across the bridge.” As if that was the cue, the mortars began firing. The shells flew through the air. Screams could be heard over the platoon circuit along with a call for general retreat and regroup. Carrizo grimaced, “Looks like where gonna have to take them out.” Matthias nodded, and said “Yeah, Lennon is trying to get into a firing position and Sasha is on her way over.” Carrizo nodded, then Sasha came walking up, “What do you have Matthias?” The man pointed, once again, over the wall, Sasha looked, “Shit! How are we gonna do this Carrizo?” The burly man looked once more at the position, “We’ll split up, I’ll head up their left side, you two go on the right, I won’t be able to take any direct hits from that .50, not even my armor can withstand those, so Lennon had better be able to take it out. If the MG is down, we’ll try to rush, I’ll throw some Flashbangs and grenades to confuse and hopefully kill them, got that Lennon?”
The sniper had been moving out into the graveyard out behind the church, he had just lain down in his position when he felt something hit him in the back, hard. He rolled over to find himself facing a Valor soldier. The sniper brought his foot up, kicking the Valor man in the crotch. Lennon threw himself to his feet, pulling out his massive bowie knife. He stabbed the man in the neck, the massive blade easily slipping through the bone and tissue. Lennon dropped the dead body, then returned to his position, “Got it boss, the MG gunner will be down on your mark.”
Carrizo nodded to himself. “Alright, everybody, on my go.” He quickly reloaded his weapon and readied a few of his grenades. “3,” Sasha reloaded her KP7, her reacquired F90 strapped to her back. “2,” Matthias made the sign of the cross on his chest, then wiped some water off of his Aviator glasses.
“1”

Hey guys! Hope you enjoy today's read, most of it was actually based of a game I had earlier this week with a few members of my clan.
New forums! These new ones... suck D: no Kudos, no nothing. But, at least we still have forums!

Lost

Dimitrov nodded to the two men, “Thank you.” Abrams was the last to leave and he closed the door behind him. Dimitrov stood and peered out the window, the men were on the parade field, exercising. Hoi walked in, “Sir, you wanted to see me?” Dimitrov nodded, “I’ve found out where Carrizo is being held, but you’re not going to like this.” Dimitrov brought the image of Flores Basin Transfer up on the 3D display. “He’s being held here, in the command center, one Captain Grobel has been keeping him captive.” Hoi looked at the display, “How do you know he’s here?” Dimitrov led the younger man over to another computer, “I got into their secure network using Carrizo’s access codes, he shows up on a list for executions. His is in two days.” Hoi sighed, “Well, we’ll have to get him out of there.” Dimitrov nodded, “I’m working on a plan, but we’ll need more men, take a few of the guys for protection and see if you can recruit some more soldiers.” Hoi nodded and left the room, Dimitrov sunk back into his chair, head in hands.
Hoi walked into the fitness center, a huge Raven logo was plastered across the front wall. He moved seamlessly through the crowd of men who were checking in, and went straight to the weights. He set up the weights, and then looked around. He saw a Raven man standing, not really doing much. Hoi walked over, “Hey, would you be my spotter?” The man nodded, and followed Hoi to his bench. Hoi lay down and began pumping steel. “So, you’re in Raven?” The man nodded, “Yeah, joined up when I was 18; been in ever since.” Hoi nodded, “That’s a long time!” The man nodded again. Hoi set the weights back on the rack, “You know, you look like you don’t agree with this Shadow war.” The man raised an eyebrow, “It’s none of my business.” Hoi nodded, “All the same, you look like a man who would want to stop the war.” The man slowly nodded, “I might be.” Hoi leaned in closely, “Meet me in the Restaurant across the street in one hour, and ask for Titan.” Hoi walked quickly away, signaling the rest of his men to move away from their own possible recruits.
An hour later, a group of about 10 men entered The Palace. They all asked for Titan, and they were all led to a back room away from the rest of the patrons. Hoi sat behind a folding table, papers spread out in front of him, when the men entered he looked up, smiling. “Welcome, your all here because we think you are eligible recruits for Titan. Titan is an organization focused solely on stopping the Shadow War. I hope all of you will join to save your children’s, and your own lives.” The men nodded slowly, Hoi placed pens on the table, “Just sign up here and we’ll take you too our base for training.”

The new men were quickly placed into squads and sent out on an exercise. Hoi watched them closely, making sure that the older veterans weren’t pushing them around too much. After a few hours of work he decided that they would be useable in the upcoming op.

Hoi tread softly, half bent, rifle at the ready. The entire platoon moved fluidly into the area, guns up and ready to fire. Hoi motioned for the men to stop, and the dark mass of men came to a standstill, Warriors squad moved up, setting charges on the gate. That was their distraction, and their ticket for a fast but deadly escape route. Hoi looked over his shoulder, making sure everyone was following, then kept moving. He heard Hanrahan mumble, “It’s too damn quiet.” Unfortunately for Hoi, he agreed. The unit quickly walked into a square, and then huge floodlights came on. Bullets began flying around, smacking into Titan soldiers. Hoi watched as the entire Warriors squad was quickly cut down by MG fire. Hanrahan was screaming, “RETURN FIRE!” The men quickly reoriented and began firing back, after a few moments the guns were silenced. A rumble was heard from nearby, Hoi looked over and watched in pure shock.

The dark figure smashed the wall down, performing a neat combat roll. The soldier knocked a Titan man over, whipped out his pistol, and put a bullet in the man’s head. The lightly armored man moved with lightning fast speed. Bullets smashed into every one of the men, from behind him Hoi heard another crash. A heavily armored figure burst out, a machine pistol blazing. The man threw himself on top of Hoi.

“Carrizo?”
